100% of wastewater is treated on-site to tertiary standards and re-used within the building, 100% of regularly occupied spaces have air renewal, 100% of indoor spaces are smoke-free, 98% of regularly occupied spaces have access to outside views, 83% reduction in indoor potable water use, 36% savings in energy cost, 28% of construction materials were extracted and manufactured within 800 km from the project site.
A quality assurance service for energy systems was hired to verify that they were installed and calibrated to perform according to the project’s requirements. High-efficient air conditioning equipment was installed to reduce electricity consumption. In addition, an electric load reduction strategy for lighting was implemented and achieved 36.01% savings in energy cost, compared with a conventional office space. Refrigerants are free of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). 53.71% of new electronic equipment is Energy Star certified, reducing the energy consumption.

Smoking is prohibited indoors, and near windows and entrances to the building, to prevent exposure of occupants to tobacco smoke. A plan of indoor air quality control measures was implemented during renovations to reduce indoor air quality problems and to promote the comfort and well-being of construction workers and occupants. The interiors were designed considering occupants’ thermal comfort. 98.52% of regularly occupied spaces have access to outside views, providing a connection between the interior and the surrounding environment.
